Cow Ballet

The 11th Annual Cow Ballet – Come Hear Music and See Cows in TuTus!

Okay, we can’t guarantee pigs with wings, but multi-talented cows in tutus, we can! The Cow Ballet is a ridiculously fun way to celebrate the end of the summer and a major fundraiser for Mountain Town Music. This quintessential, wacky event is an opportunity for you, your family, and your business to help keep music alive by attending, volunteering and donating.

Along with food, bar, games, prizes, astonishing dance performances, and of course live music by Muddpuddle, the Cow Ballet also includes an astounding Silent Auction! Your donations make this auction fabulous.

In times of economic limitations, we would like to not only honor the dollar, but also appreciate the great array of talent, interests, experience, and craftmanship that exists in this community. This is why our silent auction is open to donations of services, special opportunities, outings, activities, art and other valuable items and certificates. (ie: yard work, consultations, lessons meals, etc.)

How Charette Works

Audience goes immediately to the theatre for introductions to 5 pre-selected alumni choreographers and for the rehearsed performance.

Five choreographers are given “secret ingredients” that they must use in each composition.

RDT’s 9 professional dancers and 30 gifted community dancers are divided between the choreographers and are sent to one of the 5 studios to create their work.

Charette guests (the audience) eat, drink, and merrily wander between the party and the studios where dance is being created. Guests are invited to “bribe” the judges to vote for their favorite choreographer with RDT Funny Money.

After an hour everyone returns to the theatre to see the newly created dances, vote for their favorite, and see who winsthe title of RDT’s “Iron Choreographer” for 2011!
