This Halloween, The Latter Day Transvestites present their stage version of this classic.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show is the 1975 film adaptation of the British musical stageplay, The Rocky Horror Show. The movie is a parody of science fiction and B-movie horror films. Still in limited release 35 years after its premiere, it has the longest-running theatrical release in film history. It gained notoriety as a midnight movie in 1977 when audiences began participating with the film in theatres. Rocky Horror is the first film from a major Hollywood studio to be in the midnight movie market. The motion picture has a large international following and is one of the most well known and financially successful midnight movies of all time.
Held at the intersection of 900 South and 900 East in Salt Lake City, the 9th and 9th Street Festival has become an annual event where everyone from the city converges to enjoy food, fun and music. This year’s event will be held all day on September 19th, 2009 and promises to be better than ever with an amazing line-up of performers, an eclectic mix of local artists, and purveyors of fine foods. Something fun for both children and adults!
