Acoustic Music at the Hog Wallow

Acoustic MusicNamed after a rapid on the Green River, The Hog Wallow Pub is located kitty-corner to the historic Old Mill ruin at the base of Big Cottonwood Canyon, renowned for some of the best snow on earth. It is the latest reincarnation of the oldest and most notorious bar in the Cottonwood Heights area.

Since it’s opening, Hog Wallow has received a number of awards including City Search’s “Best Outdoor Bar,” City Weekly’s “Best Neighborhood Bar” and “Best Escape From Downtown,” and Salt Lake Magazine’s “Best Suburban Bar.”

Brigham Young Historic Park Concerts

Acoustic Guitar Music, Brigham Young Historic Park, Salt Lake City, Utah, Free Concerts, Bluegrass, Folk, Choir, Children's Performances, FamilyEnjoy free, informal, hour-long concerts at beautiful Brigham Young Historic Park on Tuesday and Friday evenings throughout June, July, and August. All ages are welcome. Limited seating is provided; blankets and lawn chairs are allowed.

The Brigham Young Historic Park is on the southeast corner of State Street and 2nd Avenue (North Temple), one block east of Temple Square.

Spring City Arts Council presents The Spring City Bluegrass Festival Saturday, August 06, 2011 in Spring City, Utah, featuring CrosStrung and more.

CrosStrung Bluegrass & Celtic Band, Bluegrass Music, Bluegrass Festival, Spring City, Utah, The Cluffs, Banjo, Mandolin, Acoustic MusicOne of Utah’s newest up and coming Bluegrass and Celtic bands. Entertaining with their tight harmonies and hot instrumentals is what this fun family group is all about. Not only do they switch off playing each others’ instruments, on occasions 3 or 4 of them can be seen playing on the same instrument at the same time. State champions Dan Riggs on fiddle and Sarah (Cluff)Riggs on mandolin and guitar, are joined by Old Time Fiddler Junior winner, Leah Cluff on fiddle, Daniel Cluff on banjo, guitar, and electric bass, Emma Cluff on acoustic bass, and Sheri Cluff (mom) on guitar, banjo, and bodhran. The band enjoys performing a wide variety of bluegrass, celtic and acoustic music, adding their own unique style.

This wonderful, fun Bluegrass Festival will be held in Spring City, location to be determained.

The festival will begin at 4:00pm and run until 10:00 pm.

There will be great music and food, overnight camping is available.

Join us for an evening of music in the Museum’s beautiful Grand Gallery with our Sunday Concert Series. The Museum is open every Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 pm, with the free Concert Series beginning at 5:00 pm on select Sundays every month.

Stephanie began her music career with piano lessons at the age of 5. For her Bachelors and Masters degree while at BYU she has studied private piano lessons with Dr. Jeffrey Shumway. Stephanie loves to volunteer in the community and has performed in elementary schools across the Salt Lake Valley to help publicize the International Gina Bacheaur Piano Competition, events for BYU, United Way of Utah County, The Lighted Candle Society, and the Provo Center Street Music Theater.

Amy Gabbitas (MM from BYU, clarinet), Stephanie Simper (BM from ASU, oboe), and Maria Heward (BM from BYU, piano), founders of the Timpanogos Chamber Music Society, are all accomplished on their respective instruments and have a desire to bring quality chamber music to Utah Valley. Come and enjoy an afternoon of beautiful music written for clarinet, oboe and piano in the exquisite Springville Art Museum.
