Bluff Balloon Festival

Hot Air Balloon Festival, Bluff, Utah, Southern Utah, San Juan County, FamilyBluff, Utah, the little town with the great can-do attitude is hosting the Annual Bluff International Balloon Festival on January 13-16, 2011. It started with one balloon and oodles of volunteers. We still have the volunteers, a tremendously supportive business community, and the nicest, most experienced group of balloonists imaginable.

Why do they return year after year? Simple. Bluff provides some of the most beautiful, unencumbered red rock flying in the Southwest. The big, colorful balloons are flown by a big, colorful cast of characters with hearts as large as their flying orbs.

Watch as their colorful balloons kiss the red rock bluffs! Fun lovers of all ages will enjoy this very friendly event!

Cooking for New Years Party

This year, as revelers reach a fevered pitch at crowded New Year’s parties, we’ll set off fireworks in our own kitchen by creating and feasting on an oh-so-decadent menu. Why wait until midnight to celebrate the New Year? We’ll pop the Champagne and count down early with deliriously fun party favors and a toast to Auld Lang Syne. Or, if you prefer a more private celebration to ring in the New Year, we’ll teach you everything you need to know to host the ultimate New Year’s Eve celebration in your own home.

SKILLS AND TECHNIQUES Making a vinaigrette; preparing gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches; grilling shrimp and testing for doneness; searing and roasting beef tenderloin; testing beef for doneness; resting and carving beef; making a classical emulsion sauce; preparing a decadent vegetable dish that will become a family favorite; making the ultimate chocolate dessert; caramelizing sugar with a blow torch.
