The Energy At These Concerts Is Unlike Anything Else. They’re So Much Fun! Come Share In These Intimate And Cozy Concert Experiences With Michele And Her Special Guests.

Shows Start At 7:00pm, Doors Open At 6:30pm. Refreshments Will Be Served. There Will Be A Free CD Giveaway, CD’s And Sheet Music Will Be Available For Sale, And You Can Mingle And Visit With The Artists During Intermission And After The Concert. Sunday Concert Series

Join us for an evening of music in the Museum’s beautiful Grand Gallery with our Sunday Concert Series. The Museum is open every Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 pm, with the free Concert Series beginning at 5:00 pm on select Sundays every month.

Stephanie began her music career with piano lessons at the age of 5. For her Bachelors and Masters degree while at BYU she has studied private piano lessons with Dr. Jeffrey Shumway. Stephanie loves to volunteer in the community and has performed in elementary schools across the Salt Lake Valley to help publicize the International Gina Bacheaur Piano Competition, events for BYU, United Way of Utah County, The Lighted Candle Society, and the Provo Center Street Music Theater.

March 20, 2011, 5 pm: Sunday Concert Series – CrosStrung

“CrosStrung” is one of Utah’s newest up and coming Bluegrass and Celtic bands. Entertaining with their tight harmonies and hot instrumentals is what this fun family group is all about. The band enjoys performing a wide variety of bluegrass, celtic and acoustic music, adding their own unique style.

Enjoy an evening with the Utah Lyric Opera, featuring artists such as Christopher Holmes and Clara Hertado Lee in the Museum’s beautiful Grand Gallery.

Amy Gabbitas (MM from BYU, clarinet), Stephanie Simper (BM from ASU, oboe), and Maria Heward (BM from BYU, piano), founders of the Timpanogos Chamber Music Society, are all accomplished on their respective instruments and have a desire to bring quality chamber music to Utah Valley. Come and enjoy an afternoon of beautiful music written for clarinet, oboe and piano in the exquisite Springville Art Museum.

Visual Art and Poetry Workshops

The Mundi Project is presenting a series of visual art and poetry workshops exploring water myths and meanings on Saturday January 15, 22, and 29 for youth in the Salt Lake School District.

Artwork and poetry will be displayed at and during the performance of “Water”- a multi-disciplinary piano concert on February 24 at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center.

This project is supported by ZAP, Utah Division of Arts and Museums, and the Salt Lake Arts Council.

Watercolor on Fabric

The Mundi Project welcomes students, ages 8 to 12, to paint undersea themes, waves, & sea life on fabric. Artwork will be showcased as scenic backdrops for “Water” music and dance performance in February.

Jon Schmidt

Jon Schmidt (born 1966) is an American pianist currently residing in Salt Lake City, Utah. He describes his style as “New Age Classical.” He was born to German immigrants who acquainted him with the works of such composers as Beethoven, Mozart, and Chopin. He began songwriting at age 11. To date, he has released eight albums and seven piano books containing transcriptions of original arrangements. His work is often described as New Age music with pop elements of hook and melody. He is also noted for his treatment of harmony, counterpoint, and rhythm. His works were also featured on sample discs for the Iomega Hipzip Digital Audio Player with the pieces “Sacred Ground”, “All of Me”, and “Waterfall”. Schmidt’s influences include Mannheim Steamroller, Billy Joel, and Beethoven. Schmidt currently has more than 2 million hits on YouTube for his piano/cello arrangement of Taylor Swift’s “Love Story” and Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida”, which is called “Love Story meets Viva La Vida”.
