Park City Ghost Tours

Park City Ghost Tours, Ghost Stories, Park City, UtahHear about Lizzy… the ghost that lives at the Imperial Hotel. Her husband shot her and her boyfriend as they lay sleeping in bed. (She likes men with beards!)

Learn about the Miner who fell down the mine shaft losing every limb on the 600 foot fall. (His favorite bar with the Alamo and he can still be seen drinking there today.)

Park City Ghost Tours reflects years of research into the colorful past of Park City. Originally a mining outpost, most people in Utah considered Park City “Sin City”.

With mining came hard drinking, gambling and brothels. And with this… came accidents, mysterious unexplained deaths and MURDER!

We believe that ghosts are real. Ask anyone who has encountered Park City’s ghosts and they will agree.  MOST of them are harmless.

A 70-minute ghost tour of downtown historic Park City will give you, your friends and your family lots to talk about. What else are you going to do? Drink? Well there’s plenty of time for that. After your bike ride, hike or shopping spree, give yourself a fright of a lifetime with these real-life stories of Park City.

Utah Shakespearean Festival

Utah Shakespearean Festival, Theatre, Southern Utah, Cedar CityThe Utah Shakespeare Festival presents life-affirming classic and contemporary plays in repertory, with Shakespeare as our cornerstone. These plays are enhanced by interactive experiences which entertain, enrich, and educate.

The Summer Festival offers free nightly Greenshows featuring music, song, and tales on two outdoor stages; the New American Playwrights Project, showcasing work of new playwrights; free literary seminars, Tuesday–Sunday, discussing the season’s plays; bi-weekly props, actor, and costume seminars; backstage tours; and play orientations before all shows.

The Fall Festival offers free literary seminars, Wednesday–Sunday, discussing the season’s shows; free actor seminars every Wednesday and Friday; free props seminars every Thursday and Saturday; intimate and detailed backstage tours Thursdays and Saturdays; and play orientations before all shows.

The Utah Shakespearean Festival was founded in 1961 and presented its first season in 1962. It was started in response to two influences: summer tourists desiring more evening activities after visiting the area’s six national parks, and a young actor’s desire to produce great theatre. Festival Founder Fred C. Adams, having just come to Cedar City after trying out the New York theatre scene for a few years, was new to the College of Southern Utah (now Southern Utah University) in 1959. However, seeing 150,000 annual summer tourists to the area, he knew he had a great potential audience for a theatre festival. Excited by the idea, he packed up his notes and ideas and visited Ashland, Oregon, the site of the granddaddy of all Shakespeare festivals, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. While there, he closely observed operations and was befriended by Angus Bowmer, the OSF founder, whom Adams interviewed extensively. On the long ride back to Cedar City, the Utah Shakespearean Festival was born.

Laughing Stock Improv

Laughing Stock Improv, Off Broadway Theatre, Salt Lake City, Utah, Comedy It doesn’t matter what you’ve read. This is the one and only home of Utah’s actual longest running and most successful improv comedy troupe. Others may make their claims to fame, but here are the facts. Laughing Stock plays every Friday and Saturday night at the Off Broadway Theatre in downtown Salt Lake City. And have done so for the nearly 15 years. Some of the faces have changed, but our primary goal has always remained the same… entertainment. Trying to help you forget the worries of your day with laughter. There is no place quite like OBT. And, there is no improv troupe quite like Laughing Stock.
