Uintah County (/juːˈɪntə/ yoo-IN-tə) is a U.S. state of Utah County with a population of 32,588 (2010 Census). Its county seat and largest city is Vernal. The county was named after the Ute Indian tribe that lived in the basin. It is the largest natural gas producer in Utah, with 272 billion cubic feet produced in 2008.
