Winners of the 2009 Posty for “Best Utah Rock Band”, The Wayne Hoskins Band has spent the last two years focused on writing and recording their music, as well as performing at featured venues around the Western United States.
Formed in 2008, band members Dustin, Dave, Mike, Carl and Eric combine to create music from beautifully powerful rock choruses in songs like “Something Better” to epic ballads like “I’ll Be Right Here”…the band has captured the attention of a large fanbase of passionate music lovers and classic rock enthusiasts. Dustin’s vocals and lyrics give listeners a window into themselves and shed light on music and emotion. Conceptually simple, the greatest element of The Wayne’s efforts is the chemistry of the musicians.
The Wayne’s resume includes live performances at THE SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL, two invitations to the exclusive Acoustic All Stars Festival in Park City, Utah, the Promenade Music Festival in Boise, Idaho and the Project Green River Music Festival. The Wayne was also a featured artist at the Utah State Fair.
Most recently, The Wayne Hoskins Band performed with SAFETYSUIT, as seen on VH1’s Top 20 Countdown, to a crowd of over 1,000+ excited fans. One fan had this to say about the show: “The Wayne Hoskins Band was AMAZING! I really enjoyed their music!” (–Ashlee from Provo, Utah)
Influenced by The Frames, Justin Currie and Todd Thibaud, The Wayne falls into a cross-genre; compared to Counting Crows, Ray LaMontagne, The Fray, Lifehouse and Daughtry, the best way to describe The Wayne might simply be – classically good.
The EP “Breaking Here” will be released NOVEMBER 13th under the ROCKFISH RECORD COMPANY label; with a SOLD OUT party to kickoff the music!
Fans are already looking forward to The Wayne’s FULL-LENGTH STUDIO ALBUM, set to release in SPRING of 2011.
THE WAYNE HOSKINS BAND – ORIGINAL SOUL, CLASSIC SOUND…
The music of Brett Turner has something most musicians only dream of. With Guitar riffs that rival Tom Petty, Lyrical story telling reminiscent Sheryl Crow and Bob Dylan, and the ability to portray the rock and roll spirit of Mr. Johnny Cash himself, this talented one man band is inventing his own genre.
Brett Turner is a working singer-songwriter from Ogden, Utah carving out his niche entertaining crowds with his acoustic Americana songs reminiscent of the 50’s west cost folk rock scene. Using a loop pedal to record drums, tambourine, and vocals in real time Brett creates unique sound that people stop and take notice of. A patron going out for a drink one night approached the manager of the venue saying: “I heard the music when I was coming in and was floored to see that much sound coming from one guy. He’s got more energy and sound than most 5 piece bands that I’ve heard.”
It’s that distinctive sound that gets Brett noticed. Last year Brett was offered a distribution deal with the label Tate Music Group (Oklahoma). He spent 2009 performing, recording and producing his project “All Across America” (Available June 2010) in addition to holding down a full-time job at a local Newspaper. As soon as he finished “All Across America” Brett began working on three smaller EP projects entitled the “Red, White, And Blue Sessions” (June 2010). Each CD contains five original songs recorded in a live format. Brett has since quit his job from the newspaper and will be hitting the road and traveling through small to medium sized towns across the USA starting in June to support his projects and earn his living.
